Calendula and Lavender

We grow many wonderful herbs on our farm but two of our favorites for skin care are calendula and lavender.

Calendula, which is in the aster or sunflower family, is native to southern Europe. It’s amazing medicinal properties are found in the entire flower head, including the overlapping green bracts of the base of the flower head. The resin that is found in the flower base (and which makes your hands sticky when harvesting this beautiful flower) are antimicrobial and wound healing. In the garden, it attracts pollinators and protects from insect pests.

Calendula

Calendula is one of the amazing herbs that we grow on our farm. It has been used for centuries to heal wounds, burns, and rashes. Dried and used to infuse oil, calendula’s anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties help to protect and heal your skin.

Our Calendula Cream is formulated by hand to soothe, moisturize, and rejuvenate skin of all ages. It is created from an emulsion of olive oil and coconut oil infused with Calendula, purified water, beeswax, and lavender and orange essential oils. Calendula has been used historically to enhance skin vitality, promote healing and cellular renewal, and for its antibacterial properties. It is organically grown on our farm and harvested and processed by hand to preserve its healing qualities.  It is particularly soothing for any skin issues – eczema, cracked cuticles, skin irritations and rashes (including insect bites!), and sunburn.

Our Calendula Lotion is delicate and quickly absorbed while maintaining soft, silky skin throughout the day. It is designed to be used daily over the entire body—especially on the face and hands.

The Lotion is created with select natural ingredients formulated to support and balance healthy functioning of the skin. We use grape seed oil that is infused with our organically grown calendula blossoms.  The lotion is made from an emulsion of this infused oil, calendula tea, shea butter, emulsifying wax, and lavender essential oil.  Promoting and enhancing skin vitality, healing, and cellular renewal, Calendula Lotion provides a soothing nutrient for your skin.
